Sang Mei Juan is of Paiwan origin, from Cavak tribe in Sandimen Townshio of Pingtung Country, Taiwan. Her tribal name, Seredew, was given to her by her mother, which means ‘infection’. Drawing from authentic music from ancient Paiwan tunese, she released a studio album in an effort to preserve ancient Paiwan tunes, album Infection, in 2018, winning the 29th Golden Melody award for Best Aboriginal Singer.
